Most DAWs on Linux were ported from other platforms or designed decades ago. ForgeDAW is different: it is built from the ground up for modern Linux, starting with the workflow that matters most — editing vocals.
The goal is simple: editing audio should feel as direct and effortless as editing text. Split, drag, fade, export. No friction.
From that foundation, ForgeDAW grows into a complete production environment — recording, comping, mixing, and beyond.

v0.9 — shipped
Vocal Naturalizer, ForgeMaster with streaming/broadcast/podcast profiles, Mix Doctor, FX Rack with equalizer graph and compressor curves, sample editor, punch & comp recording, tempo map, buses & post-fader sends, automation, WAV + MP3 export, and transport/engine stability hardening (0.9.25–0.9.27).
v1.0 — next
Full ForgeEqualizer DSP behind the EQ rack, pre/post-fader send switching, send automation, touch/latch/write modes, tempo editor UI, and export loudness pre-checks.
v1.x — later
Plugin hosting (LV2, CLAP, VST3), MIDI and piano roll, virtual instruments, and advanced production features.
